Over 300 years of history in every bottle. First made on the Constantia Estate in the late 1660s and celebrated in the literature of Austen, Dickens and Baudelaire. Vin de Constance is produced in the oldest winemaking area in the Western Cape from hand harvested, naturally raisined grapes.
Joe Fattorini’s Tasting Note: “Taste this wine and you taste the past. Enjoy the honeyed sweetness and orange-marmalade tang. They are the same flavours that captivated Jane Austin, Charles Dickens and Napoleon. The heady, complex sweet and spice aromas tell you this is one of the great wines of the world”
A rich, darker golden honey colour with intense perfumed nose of complex spice, cloves and vanilla
Developed secondary flavours of orange marmalade and dark chocolate. An intriguing and ever-evolving wine. The bold, sweet palate is perfectly balanced by tight acidity which results in a long-lingering honeyed finish
