This classic Australian Shiraz has rich flavours of ripe plum, blackcurrant and spices. Well rounded with a smooth, mouth filling finish, it is a perfect accompaniment to most dishes, especially tomato-based Italian and red meats.
Directions
To fully appreciate it, the wine should be opened 1 or 2 hours before tasting it. Or use a wine breather to reduce the wines natural tannins and bring out the subtle rounded flavours. nn Also using the correct glass for red wine will enhance the rate of oxidation and enhancing the flavour and aroma of the wine.

Caves d’Esclans is the brightest new star of the Cotes de Provence. Established in 2006 when Bordeaux-born Sacha Lichine bought the Chateau d’Esclans, this dynamic producer harnesses both the chateaugrown grapes and fruit from local growers to create a stunning range of highly sought-after wines. Patrick Leon, the former winemaker at MoutonRothschild, oversees production.
The grapes come from several top vineyards in the region of La Motte en Provence, with classic chalky-clay soils and southerly exposure. Harvesting only took place between sunrise and noon to avoid picking in the hottest part of the day.
The grapes were sorted three times, both electronically and manually, before destemming and a light crushing at 7-8C. The free-run and direct-pressed juice fractions were both vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, and there was twice-weekly batonnage before bottling in the December following the harvest.SKU: n/a -

Joe Fattorini’s Tasting Note: “Sparkling Shiraz is exactly that. A deep red, lightly spicy sparkler. It’s also an Australian institution. Peter Lehmann is a Barossa institution too and he makes one of the best. It’s a bit confusing a first – yes it’s chilled and red, and a bit sweet, and fruity but not tannic… but just go with it. Australians love to serve this at barbecues and it does work well with burgers and spicy wings. But I love it most with a really good curry.”
